The basic guitar chord arrangements include the major and minor chords from four common musical keys, A, G, C, and D. Broadly, there are two types of guitar chord arrangements; "open chords" and "advanced chords". The guitar chord arrangements in which at least one string in the chord is not fretted (pressed down with a finger) are known as open chords. The guitar chord arrangements that are complex chords further up the guitar neck, such as Barre chords are known as advanced chords. Often, the open cord guitar arrangements are easier to learn and play than more advanced chords.
