Electric Guitar

If you have brought a new electric guitar and want to impress someone by creating some delightful and memorable moments then you need not worry. You only have to follow some simple tips and you are through. Half your work is done if you find for yourself a good teacher. It is only your teacher who can teach you how to play the guitar. Your teacher can help you in many other ways. You can discuss your problems with your teacher and he is the right person who can raise your confidence whenever you are diffident or feeling low. You can also learn more about the chords, as he will give you practical lessons on them. It is quite necessary to get into the details if you want to play the guitar really well. It requires a lot of patience to learn the electric guitar even though it might appear easier than an acoustic guitar.

However if you are confident enough to manage without a teacher then here are some guidelines which might prove useful to learn to play the guitar all on your own. You can collect some books which provide notations of various songs. You can begin with simple 4/4 beat songs or 3/4 beat songs. Yankee Doodle, charade etc. are some of those simple songs. By doing this you will be able to increase your spontaneity. You will also learn to move your fingers more quickly.

Once you have done this you can move onto something more complex which requires the use of your fourth finger. It is very important to use four fingers while you are playing an electric guitar. The thumb will provide support at the neck.

When you have acquired control on all your fingers then the time factor becomes important. By this time you should start experimenting with key signature notations like 6/8 beats, 2/2beats, 7/4 beats etc. It is necessary to be conversant with the scales and you can be conversant only if you practice. Practice the major and minor ones, the harmonic and melodic minors, and also the 3rd, 5th and 7 th positions. One has to feel comfortable in every frate position whileplaying the electric guitar.

Another integral part of the electric guitar is the chord section. Oneshould start with the easy ones like D major, A major, E major G major. Initially one should start with nut position and after that go for the bar chords and minor chords. Ornamental chords like diminished, augmented, 7th chords 6th chords come later. Different rhythms should be practiced. One should also read good music books in order to know how to grasp the chords. These were only guidelines but in order to be an expert one should also listen to good solo electric guitar pieces. Lastly all this will be of no use if one does not practice regularly and therefore one should practice every day.
